RCSP Frequently Asked Questions

After earning the RCSP™ designation, how do I use it?

The RCSP™ designation may be used following your name as a professional credential (for example: Jane Doe, RCSP™). Many credential holders also include the designation in their professional bio, resume, LinkedIn profile, email signature, and in other professional materials.

You may refer to the designation as RCSP™ or Real Estate Collaborative Service Partner™.
The designation may only be used by individuals who maintain an active status through completion of continuing education requirements and payment of designation renewal fees.

Why is continuing education required for the RCSP designation?

Continuing education is required to ensure that designation holders remain current with evolving commercial real estate (CRE) industry standards and best practices. By engaging continuing education, RCSPs also demonstrate their continued commitment to being a strong, collaborative partner to CRE professionals.

How long is my RCSP designation active before renewal is required?

The length of the initial certification period depends on when the designation is first earned:

  • January 1-June 30: The designation is active through December 31 of the following calendar year. Continuing education requirements for this initial period are prorated to 7.5 hours.

  • July 1-December 31: The designation is active through December 31 of the second calendar year following the year in which the designation was earned. Continuing education requirements for this initial period are 10 hours.

How many continuing education hours are required to renew the RCSP designation?

After initially earning and renewing the designation, RCSPs are required to complete 10 hours of approved continuing education within every subsequent two-year period to maintain an active designation.

What types of continuing education qualify for renewal?

Qualifying continuing education may include industry-related educational courses, seminars, webinars, conferences, and other professional development activities relevant to commercial real estate. These educational programs may be administered by any organization other than the RCSP’s employer.

How do I report my continuing education hours?

RCSP designation renewals last two years, starting on January 1 of the year the renewal is due and expiring on December 31 of the following year.

How much is the RCSP designation renewal fee?

The RCSP designation renewal fee is $75.

What happens if I do not complete my renewal requirements on time?

If renewal requirements are not completed by the deadline, the designation will become inactive. Individuals with an inactive designation may not use the RCSP credential or claim to be a RCSP until all renewal requirements have been satisfied and active status is restored.

Can my RCSP designation be reinstated if it expires?

Yes, individuals with an expired designation may be eligible for reinstatement by completing the required continuing education and paying the designation renewal fee for the time lapsed.

How can I verify if my designation is active?

Any individual may verify that the RCSP has been earned by providing to The Center for Real Estate Excellence 1) the name of the individual who earned the credential; 2) either the email address that they used at the time of program enrollment or the city and state (or city and country for non-U.S. participants) used at the time of program enrollment.

Can continuing education hours be carried over to the next renewal cycle?

Continuing education hours must be completed within the designated renewal period. Carryover of excess hours to future renewal cycles is not permitted.
