Real Estate Collaborative Service Partner™ (RCSP™) Designation Program

The Real Estate Collaborative Service Partner™ (RCSP™) designation is a professional credential designed for individuals who sell products or services to the commercial real estate (CRE) industry. The program equips participants with the knowledge and strategic perspective necessary to work more effectively and collaboratively with property managers, facility managers, building engineers, asset managers, and other CRE decision-makers.

The program is designed to help product and service providers better understand how commercial buildings operate and how decisions are made. The program also explores how to align products and services with operational and financial needs, how to maintain high standards of ethics, and how to approach sales not as a transaction, but rather as a collaborative partnership.

Earning the RCSP designation signals a commitment to a strong partnership with CRE professionals. RCSPs understand not only what they sell, but how their solutions fit into building operations, ownership objectives, financial constraints, and performance expectations.

Who Should Pursue the RCSP Designation?

The RCSP designation is designed specifically for professionals who sell products or services to the CRE industry, including:

  • Product and service providers and solution specialists

  • Sales professionals and account managers

  • Consultants and advisors

  • Vendor and partner organization leaders

RCSPs most commonly work with property managers, facility managers, building engineers, asset managers, and property ownership representatives, and want to deepen their effectiveness and credibility with these CRE professionals.

How Do I Earn the RCSP Designation?

The RCSP designation is earned by completing a structured curriculum of courses and successfully passing a knowledge assessment after each course. The program is designed to be practical, applied, and immediately relevant to successfully collaborating as a CRE service partner.

Core areas of study include:

  • Fundamentals of the Commercial Real Estate Industry: Understanding property types, ownership structures, management roles, and the lifecycle of CRE assets.

  • Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, and Bids: How CRE professionals think about operating budgets, capital planning, bid processes, and financial accountability.

  • Building Systems and Infrastructure: A working knowledge of key building systems and how services and products impact performance, reliability, and cost.

  • Programs and Product Alignment for CRE: Positioning solutions in ways that support operational goals, asset strategies, and tenant needs.

  • Doing Business in the Commercial Real Estate Industry: Professional norms, collaboration expectations, risk management, and ethical engagement in CRE relationships.

  • Ethics and Professional Conduct in CRE: Navigating ethical decision-making, conflicts of interest, and building long-term trust in CRE relationships.

Individuals must complete all courses. During each course, a knowledge-verification quiz will be administered. A minimum 80% score is required to pass. Quizzes may be retaken, with no additional fee, until a passing score is achieved. All quizzes are open book.

After completing all courses and passing all quizzes, individuals will receive a certificate from The Center for Real Estate Excellence and may begin using the RCSP designation behind their name.

Every two years, RCSPs must certify that they have completed 10 hours of continuing education (CE) on CRE-related topics to maintain use of the RCSP designation. CE credit is awarded in 0.5-hour increments. Programs must include at least 25 minutes of instructional content to qualify for CE credit. Breaks, meals, networking activities, and social events do not count toward instructional time. For example, continuing education credit is awarded based on the instructional length of the educational program as follows:
